Once in the simulation, you join the U.S.’s fight to liberate Anchorage from the raging, invading, terrifiying communist forces that are the dreaded Chinese.Īs all of you probably know by now, every gaming site and their mother is announcing their candidates for 2008 Game of the Year. This should look familar, as you have probably experienced this earlier in the game. Of course, you are in possession of a unique piece of technology on your arm which will allow you to operate a simulator. The subtle addition of a distress call (from the Outcasts, who are just badass) leads you to their base, which in turn leads you to a discussion with their leader.
The chapter itself has been fairly entertaining so far. This has to be a good thing, right? Playing Fallout was more attractive, for a few minutes, then greasy food (double bacon roll), sports (Fitzy is a god, even if they lost) and the company of my good friends. A hungover Sunday inspired purchase, the post-nuclear add-on was pretty responsible for the fashionably late attendence of my super bowl party. Happy Monday Birdnesters, I decided that, against my better judgement, it was time for a quick and dirty post about my initial reaction to the Operation Anchorage DLC for Fallout 3. Neither of these announcements are that exciting, but don’t forget to Pre-Order your copy of Street Fighter IV, it comes out in less then two weeks! Note: There were some decent announcements from some major publishers yesterday, including Battlefield 1943 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2. That’s it for now, I’ll be keeping my ear to the ground though, and if I find any new information you know I’ll post it. He does go into some good detail about Anchorage, and the full interview is worth a read. Nothing really new, but confirm’s the earlier rumors. It also raises the level cap to 30, add new foes, weaponry and allows the player to irrevocable alter the wasteland in profound new ways. The third DLC is called “Broken Steel.” This DLC will change the ending of the main quest of Fallout 3 and allow the player to continue their quest in the wasteland. The next installment is entitled “The Pitt,” and will send the player to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, disguised as a slave in order to join, or usurp, a tribe of raiders that have taken over the steel yards there.
JG: There are two more pieces of Downloadable Content in addition to Operation: Anchorage in the works. While most of the interview was focused on Operation: Anchorage, he did have answer one question in regards to the Pitt: I did find myself reading an interview at Skewed and Reviewed with one the lead producer at Bethesda, Jeff Gardiner. I’ve been looking for details on the next installment, call The Pitt, but information is sparse to say the least. After finishing Operation Anchorage the other day, I’m now chomping at the bits in anticipation for the rest of the downloads.
